Bob Burris: Senior Pastor
|
Pastor Bob became our ministry team leader at Taft Avenue Community Church in March of 1998. He did his undergraduate work at Biola University in La Mirada, CA, earning a degree in Bible and Psychology in 1978. He then entered Talbot Theological Seminary, a graduate school of Biola, and earned a Master of Divinity in Old Testament in 1981. He also earned his D. Min. degree in preaching from Westminster Seminary in Escondido. He and his wife began their full-time ministry with Village Missions in Hayfork, California, in May of 1981. They served there for 8 years before moving to Lancaster, CA, as Senior Pastor of the Lancaster Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Bob has been married for 27 years to his wife, Vickie, and has 4 children and one son-in-law.
Pastor Bob regularly preaches through the books of the Bible in an expository fashion - verse by verse. Some of his favorite authors include: D.A. Carson, John Piper, Chuck Swindoll, C.S. Lewis, J.I. Packer, Jerry Bridges, R.C. Sproul, Eugene Peterson, John Stott, Joni Eareckson Tada, and Donald Whitney.

Ed Nilsen: Music Director
|
Ed Nilsen joined the staff at Taft Avenue in August 2008. He and his wife, Roxanne, have been leading worship in local congregations and retreat centers for over 25 years. In addition to his part time role at Taft Avenue, Ed teaches guitar privately at his studio in Mission Viejo. He and Roxanne also have recorded two CD's, 'As Long As I'm Here', released in 2004, and 'This Side of Glory,' which will be released winter 2008.
He earned an AA from Pacific Christian College in Fullerton and a BA from Cal State Fullerton in music education. His other work experience includes restaurant manager, real estate broker and operations analyst in the retirement plan industry.

Josh Kennedy:

Josh has been a part of the TACC family for 2 years and has recently moved into a position on staff serving our youth. He is currently pursuing a degree in English at California State University in Fullerton. He has been married to his beautiful wife, Rosemary, for almost 5 years.

Nanette Overby:
Administrative

Nanette is a native Californian with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Biola University and a Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from Talbot School of Theology. She has worked in the TACC office since July of 2007. Hers is the cheery voice you'll hear when calling the church office. She and her husband, Matthew, reside in Fullerton.

Cathy Keller: Children's House Director
|
Cathy holds a Bachelor of Science in Child Development from Cal State Fullerton and has worked in that field since 1975. She has been employed by the Children's House Christian preschool, a ministry of TACC, since 1984, and has been directing the school since 1990. Cathy and her husband, Doug, have three sons and reside in Yorba Linda.

Christie is our part-time interim Director of Children's Ministries. She works tirelessly to make sure our children get the very best. She and her family have been attending TACC for many years. Christie is the mother of 3 active boys and the wife of Bill, a TACC Elder. The Runions make their home in Anaheim.
